President of Myanmar Thein Sein will make a new its peace panel representatives in an effort to stop the warfare, hostilities and fighting between the military groups and the ethnic rebels in Kachin State. The peace treaty which has already existed and such meetings and discussions among the leaders of the ethnic groups happened about six times and yet peace in these areas has never been reached and attained.

Innocent people who have been victims of these atrocities and acts of violence have forced more than 50,000 to leave their homes and look for a safer place for their families and relatives since the month of June, reports from Reuters said.

The President in an effort to organize the peace talks has called upon various ethnic groups to start the discussion in August. To enable him work for the commitment of long lasting peace in Myanmar he will convey the presence of the vice president, parliamentarians and top military officials to get in the way for 3 planned phases in achieving reconciliation among these groups.

In order for the Western countries to ease more sanctions, it posed challenge to the government to manage the peace crisis in ethnic territories although some ethnic groups have already worked on the peace agreements, said news report from Reuters.

Karen National Union (KNU), known to be one of the largest group of ethnic minorities that had been at war with the government even at present times but have reached out for a constructive political discussion earlier this month. Most probably the main essence of the meeting would be to grant the autonomy they had been asking for provided they would form their own political parties.

It’s a choice between two prominent figures that had been mentioned to lead the peace talks. It’s between the leadership of Aung Thaung, a high profile leader of Union Solidarity and Development Party (USDP) and also a former Industry Minister and the other group are led by Rail Transportation Minister Aung Min. But as many diplomats and analysts perceive, the group spearheaded by Aung Min would get the possible approval and recommendation based on his records on dealing with the rebels.

On the other hand, dialogues and meetings had been rendered to the Kachin Independence Army and its political wing, the Kachin Independence Organisation by no other than the members of Aung Thaung’s team but the peace agreement was not successful and ineffective.

It has been observed that despite the call of international communities to stop all the grievances, violation of human rights and the ongoing conflict in these ethnic territories, still the fight continuously goes on. Also President Thein Sein has initiated directives to the military army not to make an assault against the KIA but it seems such abuses remains to be prevalent, the report said.

Kachin State is one of the most eyed locations for business since China has been endowed to construct the hydropower plants, twin gas and oil pipelines from the Bay of Bengal just so to meet its increasing demand for its own energy requirements and necessities.
