Suu Kyi and Bono finally meet

Suu Kyi and Bono finally meet. A lead singer and rock star activists Bono met his idol Nobel Peace Prize winner Aung San Suu Kyi and went as far as writing a song about her. During her trip to Europe, she was accorded a VIP treatment. She will participate in the Oslo Forum talks done every year together with Irish singer Bono and other pertinent guests.

She will join Bono in his private jet for the Electric Burma concert hosted by the Amnesty International as disclosed by an official of the Norwegian Foreign Ministry.

Other activities lined up is the Losby Gods retreat and both Suu Kyi and singer Bono will be joined by other participants in view of the function of a dialogue in a country’s transition by being aware of the various reforms implemented in Burma and the Arab Spring nations. The main objective of this conference is to impart whatever experience gained in resolving disputes between warring parties. The lists of invited guests include Louise Arbour, former UN human rights chief and International Crisis Group president, Myanmar’s Minister of Industry U Soe Thane and Swedish Foreign Minister Carl Bildt, AFP news reported.

As admiring crowds welcomed her in Norway and Switzerland, Suu Kyi was in her total personality of being humble which is loved and appreciated by the people. She explained that what she did for her country is nothing as compared to what others have struggled and sacrificed for. What she has become today is part of her struggles and great effort and now the time has come for her to reap every success that comes her way.

Being a member of the parliament, she made a vow together with her party to serve with all dedication and loyalty to her country by leading a righteous path to reconciliation and forget all what’s been done in the past for healing process to work out all for the good of Burma, according to AFP report.
