Win Myint says Japanese technology can help Myanmar health development

Win Myint, the Commerce Minister of Myanmar upon his visit in Tokyo in a small factory dealing with surgical training simulators revealed that he was amazed with the technologies in Japan and expressed humility that these corporations could greatly contribute to their country’s effort for progress and development.

The Minister together with 25 business representatives from Myanmar joined him in the economic seminars held in Tokyo and scheduled in Osaka on Thursday.

EBM Corporation is a small factory that produces medical equipment which is utilized by 100 hospitals in Japan and such equipments are also shipped to other nations like China. Germany and the United States.

According to Win Myint, the spaces used for the manufacturing of equipments are small and they are able to produce such kind. With these favourable technologies in sight, he asked the firm to assist and support them with this development. Moreover, he was very optimistic that conveying this to other ministers in Myanmar will get their approval to take on the same scheme, said news report from Kyodo.

He was not only overwhelmed with the inventions but also had the opportunity to experience actual managing of simulator for heart bypass surgery but by doing so he was being supervised and directed by Park.

With his 2 day tour, he also met the chairman of Chamber of Commerce and Industry Tadashi Okamura and asked their full support in creating and encouraging investments by Japanese firms. He also added that reforms are also enforced in agricultural sector, tariffs, foreign exchange and government regulations in trade and business markets.

Okamura vowed to give their assistance and push small and midsize companies to make investment in Myanmar. He also looks forward to the improvement of its economic development and expansion. An economic mission is tentatively scheduled by the chamber of Commerce and Industry by the month of September.
