Myanmar actors will be chosen to play the role of Bogyoke Aung San and his wife Daw Khin Kyi in a forthcoming movie film which will tackle the life about Myanmar’s independence hero. The final choice of actor will be announced on July 20, 2012 to be spearheaded by Bogyoke Aung San film Executive Board chairman Daw Aung San Suu Kyi and other board members, said news report from Myanmar Times.
From among the Shortlists actors who will be selected to play the character of BogyokeAung San are Mg KyaukKhae, Mg Phyo Tay Za Lin, Mg Nay Oo @ Nanda Moe, Mg Kyaw Kyaw Myo, Mg Wai Lin Tun, Mg Kyaw San Htay and Mg Sai Naw Khen.
To play the role of his wife are actress Ma Thin Myat Thandar Hlaing, Ma Htar Htar Wai, Ma Hnin Htet Htet Wai, and Ma Zar Chi Lin. According to U Zaw Thet Htwe, one of the Board member said that they can accommodate two actors to play the role. This is for the reason that in case the other actor is sick or absent, the other actor could immediately take his position.
Prior to the big announcement of who will play the characters of both Bogyoke Aung San and Daw Aung San Suu Kyi , she will organize a meeting first with the short-listed nominees and later meet with the board members to discuss her ideas and to enable her to make suggestions and recommendation.
Training will be set by the end of July for the various roles they are to portray. The duration of their training program will depend on their talent and skills. Camera shoot will roll by the early months of 2013, Myanmar Times report said.
Experienced actors and directors head the actor’s selection board and the acting consultants are as follows; Daw Swe Zin Htike, U Nyunt Win, U Kyi Soe Tun and U Aung Lwin.
Daw Aung San Suu Kyi expressed her eagerness to showcase the biopic of Aung San which prompted her to meet with actors and directors in her residence last December 2011.
The main target for the play date of the film will be before Aung San’s 100th birthday on February 13, 2015.
The roles were made to the public last February and 245 people were listed as applicants for the role of Bogyoke Aung San while 46 applicants were noted for the role of Daw Khin Kyi.
Just last week the Bogyoke Aung San Film Executive Board received the amount of US$4500 and K1.26 billion from donors who responded to their call to help and give assistance to fund the upcoming film.
