Myanmar to contest in Asian Cricket Cup 2012

The Myanmar cricketers are preparing for the upcoming prestigious event, the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) Challenge Cup 2012 this December 10 – 17, 2012 to be held in Thailand, said news report from Xinhua.

Practices and rigid trainings are enforced by ACC coach A.I. Bappy (Bangladesh), foreign coaches and skilled Myanmar coaches every four times a week to almost 20 Myanmar cricket players who are in senior levels.

Cricket has been known in Myanmar a hundred years ago. In year 2005, they became a member of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC). Myanmar’s Cricket team has actively participated in ACC Challenge Cup for three times. They have also been joining in various cricket competitions since 2006 and luckily they have won the Spirit of Cricket Award in ACC U-19 Challenge Cup, news report from Xinhua said.
