A Tibetan youth was reportedly stabbed by Muslims in India because it was mistaken with the community riot in Rakhine state, Myanmar.
Jampa Phuntsok, a Tibetan leader in Karnataka denounced the incident. He expressed disapproval of linking the Muslims in India, the Buddhist Monks specially the Tibetan in the recent hostilities and attacks in Myanmar, said news report from The Time of India.
The poor victim was a result of a mistaken identity. According to some reports, pictures and unreliable information were posted in various websites. Gossips were also on the loose by these websites about attacks on Muslims in Myanmar and they even went to the extent of posting pictures taken during the earthquake of 2010 at the ceremony of the earthquake victims.
He further stressed that Tibetans in India has never resorted into violent aggressions and conflicts. They are recognized and respected for living a friendly and peaceful life. He further advised the Tibetans to stay calm and to cool their heads. The incident has already reached the Tibetan government at Dharamsala, he said.
