Japanese language proficiency test to be held in Yangon

The Japanese Embassy announced on Thursday that Myanmar citizens will be undertaking a Japanese language proficiency test to be held in Yangon on December 2, 2012. The Japanese Embassy and Myanmar Association of Japan Alumni will be the sponsors of this test whose aim is to enhance and improve language communication between the people of Japan and Myanmar, Xinhua news reported.

The Japanese language proficiency test is being held every year in Myanmar since 1999. Around 2,072 Myanmar citizens actively participated in the examination given last year.

Additionally, both Myanmar and Japan has been supportively working in the cultural sector. Japanese film festival is being held in Myanmar every year and this started since year 2000. The Japanese embassy in cooperation with Japan Foundation will sponsor the said festival. On September 1 and 2 four Japanese films will be screened in Nay Pyi Taw namely Mai Mai Miracle, Double Trouble, At River’s Edge and Dear Doctor, said news report from Xinhua.
